Commencement exercises were held at the Sam and Will Moore Institute on Wednesday May 26 with a full auditorium. Hon John Bell of Cuero spoke on service to community and nation as diplomas were presented to Frankie Smith Lillian Cook Wesley Knape Emil Darilek Rudie Kubenka Edwin Handsur. Certificates were awarded to 24 pupils for perfect attendance. Superintendent Smith thanked students faculty board and PTA for cooperation as the class offered a farewell song.

Louis Mraz longtime Lavaca county resident died at his Moulton area home May 81 after a lingering illness. Funeral held at his family residence and St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Kopp officiating. Burial in Moulton Catholic Cemetery. Survivors include his widow eight children and many grandchildren.
