The two day Moulton Town and Country Jamboree featured a beer garden parade and a state noodle soup cook-off. Winners included Miss Moulton Beverly Jasek and Little Miss Moulton John Cinadr with runners up Richard Orsak and Sandra Shimek.
New Moulton welcomed Mr. Alan Zahradnik and family Adrian 24 Melody Ann 10 months arriving last Thursday. Zahradnik appointed as new Ag teacher in Moulton. Town wishes them happiness and success in their new home.
The Moulton Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture held a regular meeting at City Hall on July 19 with twenty three members present. Final Jamboree plans were discussed and completed.
Mrs Victor Helia Fehrenkamp 82 longtime Moulton resident died July 23 after three months ill health. Funeral services held in Moulton and details follow in the papers. The July Clearance Sale at Mikulenka's Dept Store Hallettsville runs through August 7 with 10 percent discounts for payments by September 10 and many items at half price.
The Schacherl reunion will be held Sunday August 1 1976 at 10 am in St Josephs Hall Moulton. All family members are urged to attend this annual celebration.
The 75th annual Catholic Life Insurance Union convention gathered 246 delegates plus visitors at the Sheraton Motor Inn in San Antonio Texas from July 16 to 18 1976. The event ran alongside the 78th Catholic State League convention, the 62nd Texas Branch National Council of Women Union convention and the 37th See Convention.
Raffle winners were Shelia Orsak of Moulton first prize Nocona boots Jason Haikenwaelder of Moulton second prize Red and Reel and Hugo Fisbeck of Moulton third prize a clock radio.
Geier Merrem Post 392 held its July meeting with Commander Willie Bartos presiding. Officers were installed by Past District Chaplain Wm. Miculka. A picnic on Sunday August 22 was planned with Pulkrabek band, 100 new chairs, auction, donations sought, and half proceeds to Moulton Clinic. Noon meal 2 adults 2.00, 1.25 children. Savings of 1000 placed in Farmers & Merchants State Bank. Next meeting August 4 at 8 p.m.
The Moulton School Board met July 14 in the Administration Building with Vice President Alvin Kocian presiding. Minutes and financial report were approved. Alan Zahradnik hired as agriculture teacher for 1976 77. Bernice Hajdik resigns. Shirley Mikes hired as Special Education teacher. Mobil Oil and Superior Milk bids accepted.
The Moulton Chapter of Young Homemakers met July 21 at 7 30 p m in the Homemaking Cottage. Rose Selzer chaired the program featuring guest Elsie Jasek presenting Jene products with volunteers from Mary Patek Cathy Perez and Selzer applying demonstrations. Gloria Jasek presided and called the meeting to order.
Mrs. Henry Bustwiek remains under treatment at Shiner Hospital since last week Monday. Mr. Earl Kaiser had surgery there on July 16 and is improving. Mrs. Anna Okruhlik has been a patient at Youens Hospital in Weimar since July 25 for treatment. Mr. Marvin Valigura was admitted to Shiner Hospital on July 23 for treatment. Mr. Frank Bichinko Jr underwent major surgery on his left leg July 21 at San Antonio Community Hospital and is reported doing well in room S19 awaiting weekend release.

The Salvation Army collected 451 dollars and 20 cents, a record for the drive. One third stays in Moulton to aid local needs, while the rest goes to Austin headquarters. Chairmen were William Miculka and Willie Novosad. many volunteers assisted, including Edith Prand and Anita Richter.
Mrs. Frank Koenig of Orange Grove died July 21 in an Orange Grove hospital at 72. Born Hilda Jaroszewski in Moulton in 1904, she was the daughter of Rud Jaroszewski and Martha Lee.
The Come and Take It Day themed Gonzales Chamber of Commerce float took Best Chamber of Commerce in the entry. Alley Barbecue pickup earned Honorable Mention, decorated in silver tinsel.
