F F A Officers Training Camp Scheduled in New Braunfels
The Guadalupe Valley District F F A announces an Officers Training Camp themed Learning the Pleasant Way set for July 22 23 and 24 in New Braunfels. Vocational agriculture teachers F F A boys and the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce organized a program with tours to ranches and textile mills and talks by state officers and guests.

Military Rites Held Here For Pfc. Erwin J. Kubena
Pfc Erwin John Kubena 30 died in service on Luzon Island February 5 1945. His funeral in Moulton was conducted by the American Legion and W F W Posts with graveside firing squad and bugler. The late soldier son of Mr and Mrs John Kubena was honored at a large community service with the Henry Brosch Band providing music. Local businesses closed in tribute.

A truck auto collision near Hondo on Wednesday killed two 13 year old girls, Marjorie Cone and Helen Crompton, of Gonzales, and injured six others. The group was returning from a 10 day stay at the Alto Frio Baptist encampment near Leakey.

Pfc Anton Kresta Jr was buried Monday morning in Praha Catholic Cemetery after being killed in Manila Feb 12 1945.
