Rangers Raid Rooster Fight At Mt Olive
Texas Rangers and other lawmen raided a rooster fight at the Mt Olive property of Mr and Mrs Frank Kuchar west of Hallettsville on Sunday afternoon June 25. Ten people face felony charges for operating a gambling site while about 30 others incur misdemeanor counts for attending the cock fight after paying four dollars admission. Several hundred spectators reportedly attended as state officers arrived and a complaint was filed with a Texas agency in Austin. District Attorney Munson of Gonzales was in Dallas when the report was compiled.
