Death of W C Thornton at 88 in Texas
W C Thornton died February 20 at his daughter Mrs Milt Friersons home in Austin. He is survived by his wife Tennessee and six children Tom Fort Worth Jim West Hancy San Antonio Mrs Jim Bell Gonzales Mrs J M Frierson Austin and Mrs Wier Dallas. Interment was in Old Moulton Cemetery with Rev McLane officiating. born July 23 1846 in Tippa county Mississippi he joined the Confederate army at 18 and spent most of his life in Lavaca and Gonzales counties.

She leaves husband Ad Stratmann three daughters a granddaughter and several relatives. Numerous local figures visit and travel, events include a large mask ball at Henkhaus and various calls.

Rural School Fair At Sweet Home March Parade And Play
The Rural School Fair will be held in Sweet Home on Monday March 8 at the Hall with eleven member schools exhibiting pupil work to promote interest in practical subjects. A loving cup will go to the best booth, three prizes to each division, floats encouraged for a parade at 11 00 after a 10 30 lineup, music by Boursville School Orchestra and Harmonica Bands, a 7 30 play Light House Map, and a post show dance.
