On Friday February 18 1977 Lavaca County Senior Citizens received a twelve passenger air conditioned Dodge van funded by Farmer's Union Community Development Association and supported by Lavaca County Transportation Committee. The driver Walter Lemmons is employed by Victoria City Community Affairs. Final Rites for William Hohlt Held in Moulton

William Henry Hohlt died February 18 after a heart attack at home. He was 63 and had worked 20 years for the Southern Pacific Railroad, later ran an insurance agency, and served as Justice of the Peace Precinct 6. Funeral services were February 20 at Zion Lutheran Church Moulton with burial in Moulton City Cemetery. Survived by wife Lucille, son William Hohit III, daughter Sandra Butler, seven grandchildren, two sisters, a half-sister, mother and stepfather, and an aunt.

Multiple Area Fires Keep Moulton Fire Dept Busy

Over four calls in one week the Moulton department fought grass fires at Aaron Chudej place near Moulton and at a trailer home in Sulphur Park. The trailer home was destroyed with no occupants inside. Firefighters also tackled rural grass blazes near Way and Adolph Boehm place east of Moulton. total losses not fully detailed.

Late Publisher Walter Malec Honored at Mass Ceremony

Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Biehunko and Mr. and Mrs. Terry Biehunko with their baby attended Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Hallettsville. During the service the late publisher Walter Malec, father of Mrs. Biehunko, received the Papal Award Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice in the form of a medal and diploma. The families then dined at the Smokehouse.

Houlton FFA Plans Houston Livestock Show Trip

28 members of the Houlton FFA Chapter and Advisor Alan Zahradnik plan a bus trip to Houston for FFA Day at the Livestock Show. They depart 6:00 A.M. and arrive about 8:30 A.M. to view livestock, attend the Rodeo with guest Mac Davis, and return to Moulton around 7:00 P.M.

Artie Weathers of the Moulton FFA Chapter was one of 10 contestants catching calves in the Calf Scramble at the San Antonio Rodeo. On February 18 at Joe Freeman Coliseum, he caught the last calf and earns $30 for his Supervised Experience Program, accompanied by advisor Alan Zahradnick.
