Herbert Pavlicek of Route 1 Moulton records 1976 rainfall at 63.20 inches with April the wettest month at 11 inches. Ten inches or more fell in April May October and December while January had the least at "% inch and December 5th brought 4.60 inches in a single day. Comparison shows 1975 total 44.10 inches and 1974 56.40 inches.

Legion Aux Meets For February Meeting
The American Legion Auxiliary held its February meeting with the colors advanced and the pre amble. The secretary and treasurer reported and were accepted. Plans for a March birthday dinner were discussed, with a flower arrangement replacing a cake to be given to a Nursing Home. A Girls State letter noted a raised fee to 90 dollars.

The Moulton School Board met February 9 and set the trustee election for April 2 at City Hall. Terms for Daniel Jasek Daniel Bohuslav and Gene Selzer expire. George Mayer was named election judge and principals contracts were extended. Cafeteria manager Mrs Valigura was rehired and plans discussed for an auto mechanics course.

The market was active with stocker steer calves steady to higher while fat butcher calves were 50c to $1 lower. Packer cows and bulls ranged steady to strong. cow and calf pairs sold well though few good ones offered. Hogs remained active and fully steady with last week.
Anton F Palitza Rites Held Tuesday
Anton F Palitza formerly of the Culak Dickinson School community and Moulton died Sunday February 13 at age 81. Rosary was recited Monday at Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moulton with Rev. Robert Schmidt officiating. Interment followed at Moulton Catholic Cemetery. Survivors include nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and by his son Victor Palitza who was killed in World War II.

Kaiser Dies Following Illness at 60 in Moulton
Harry Kaiser died Sunday afternoon at Shiner Hospital at 60 years old. Born in Moulton September 28 1916 he married Allyne Hohmann July 6 1949. He worked as a mechanic at Petrek Garages and as a custodian at the Public Cemetery before passing from meningitis. Funeral services were February 15 at Smith Funeral Home with burial in Moulton City Cemetery. Surviving are his wife three sisters a brother.

Mrs Josephine Pavlicek, 82, of Flatonia died Monday February 14 1977. Sick sister of Bertha Thiede rushed to Memorial Hospital
Mrs. D. Hinrichs Sr. is seriously ill at Memorial Hospital after a heart attack at home around 10 o clock Sunday. Bertha Thiede had just returned from visiting her. Hinrichs had been recovering from a hip replacement. Josephine Schiner has improved at Shady Oak Nursing Home after Shiner Hospital stay since Feb. 3. Charles Zamykal Sr. returned home Feb. 1 after two weeks in Edgar B. Davis Hospital in Luling and is feeling better.

The City of Gonzales led a 26 percent 1976 sales tax rise among 17 towns within 40 miles of Yoakum with Victoria posting the largest dollar haul at 1 606 360 75. Gonzales ranked first in percentage gain. Cuero Yoakum and Edna also posted solid increases while Nixon and Smiley showed declines.
