Legion's Back To God program announced by Chaplain Rev. Marcus A Valenta will air on radio and TV Sunday Feb 20 from 7 to 730 pm. It will be televised from Grand Central Station with President Eisenhower National Commander Collins Auxiliary President Mrs Percy Lainson West Point Chapel Choir Morton Downey and faith representatives. ABC and ABC TV carry the program.
Complete figures for the March of Dimes drive in the Moulton area are released by drive chairman John E. Janczek. The report lists Farm Bureau rural area 289.31, business houses 205.65, sidewalk donations 194.25, miscs schools groups 399.96, totaling 1089.17. Workers urged to turn in any outstanding donations and praised for their effort despite a poor crop season.
Mrs Rene Marlene Becker 22 and her husband were indicted by a Columbus Grand Jury for drowning their newborn in a Eagle Lake Christmas Eve water tank. Becker faces charges of killing the infant by drawing it in water and by strangling. Her husband is charged with advising and encouraging the crime. Becker is also accused of a Houston store robbery last Wednesday with accomplice Gilberto Guzman, taking 150.
Rex Allen will be grand marshal of the San Antonio stock show western parade opening Friday February 18 at 2 30 p m. Parade chairmen say hundreds of riders floats wagons and bands will form San Antonio’s largest western parade with many single riders and 20 riders from each county posse. Out of town bands include Somerset LaPryor Pleasanton Moulton Shiner Devine Kenedy Gonzales Fredericksburg Medina Poteet Bandera Lytle New Braunfels Stockton Pflugerville Beeville and more with Miss Rodeo Queen from Guadalupe county aboard the Texas Angora Goat Raisers float.
