Former Moultonite Dies at Ft. Worth

Fort Worth resident C. J. Jaeggli, 59, died February 9 after a long illness. Born near Fayetteville, he lived in Moulton Hermleigh and Fort Worth. Survived by wife Clara Kubitz Jaeggli and four children, plus mother and siblings. Funeral held February 10 in Flatonia with Lutheran and Methodist ministers officiating.

Two Children Die in Texas Gasoline Torch Fire

In Gonzales Texas on Friday two children died from burns after their father R B Broadway of Leesville burned prickly pear with a gasoline torch that exploded. The three year old died a few hours after, the 12 year old died Sunday night. The father was slightly burned while trying to extinguish the flames.

LaGrange Man Marries Moulton Girl

Mr Erwin Franks and Miss Mollie Hinek were united in marriage at the Catholic church in Moulton February 14. Best man was Cleo Francis and bridesmaid Emma Hinch. After a dinner at the bride’s home, the couple left for a honeymoon in San Antonio. The bride has worked in Ed Boehm's Sons store and is daughter of William and Mrs Hinch of Moulton. The groom is a LaGrange resident employed by Ford Motor Company.

Health Program No 3 at School Auditorium

Health Program No 3 “Communicable Disease Control” will be given at the school auditorium Monday night February 20 beginning at 7 30 p m The program covers topics on communicable diseases transmission eye infection health statistics and a health play by students and teachers.

Moulton Forms Chamber of Commerce At Local Meeting

Citizens of Moulton organize the Chamber of Commerce with 35 paid members at the Central Power and Light office. Smith Leazar is president, Victor Fehrenkamp vice president, Frank Wagner secretary, Elo Fehrenkamp treasurer. Dues set at 3 dollars per member annually. A membership committee is named and a constitution and by laws committee is formed. Next meeting planned at the American Legion hall.

Lavaca County Court Adopts March Grand and Petit Jury Lists

The Lavaca county district court spring term opens in Hallettsville on March 12. Grand jury members include Frank Wagner A J Elster and August Ellinghausen. P T A of Moulton Sees Large Membership Gain

The P T A of Moulton held a Valentine themed event in the school auditorium to close a membership drive. Fourteen tables of 42 and three of banco were used for the evening, with a program of orchestral numbers solos duets and readings. Refreshments of cake sandwiches and coffee followed and 135 new members joined the roll.

Mask Ball Draws Large Crowd at Hermann Park Hall

A large crowd attended the mask ball at Hermann Park Hall Sunday night with 198 tickets sold. About 30 participants danced on the floor after unmasking at 9 pm, as prizes awarded to Miss Millie Stavinoha, Gordon Wells Fehrenkamp, Miss Annie Fishbeck and Miss Emma Schoenfeld.

Moulton Boys and Girls Defeat Flatonia Squads on Court

Moulton high school beat Flatonia boys 46 to 24 and defeated Flatonia girls 36 to 16 on Monday evening. The games featured both boys and girls squads competing on the local court.

Mrs Rud Valenta left Monday for a week's visit at Kansas City and Westhoff. Mrs J D Gray of Yoakum was in Moulton several days this week visiting her mother Mrs M C Kubitz and her sister Mrs Rudolph Jaeggi.

Southwestern Bell official visits Moulton in bid for interests

BE Harrigel of Eagle Lake district manager for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company was in Moulton Tuesday and Wednesday to oversee the company's interests. Ninth District Committee man Fred F. Fehrenkamp of Moulton and Rudio Valenta and O. S. T. Meyer of Shiner attended the American Legion District Convention at Wharton last Sunday.

The Lutheran church dedicated a new piano last Sunday with a program by the Sunday School and Luther League. Rev. ki. Meier of Arneckeville assisted as pianist. audience enjoyed all numbers. Donations included $250 from Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Kieschnik and $100 from C. Windel along with many smaller gifts.

Lindy Returns After 1200-Mile Nonstop Flight

Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh completed a 1200 mile nonstop flight from Havana to St Louis on Monday. The good will ambassador also visited Mexico Central America South America and the West Indies Islands. He did more to promote goodwill than any man before him.

Ed Boehm's Sons merchants received a car of fine cabbage last weekend and it sold rapidly. Many buyers came from distant points to purchase the vegetables.

Moulton P T A Holds Monthly Meeting

The Moulton P T A met at the high school with about thirty members present. The membership committee reported 120 new members, bringing total membership to 150. An electric light at the school entrance was approved and the group voted to buy more books for the library per a State Education inspector's recommendation.
