Peace Officers Meet To Tighten County Law Enforcement
A group of peace officers and officials including Sheriff A P McElroy and County Attorney Paul Fertsch met at the court house to unify enforcement efforts. They urged stock control on highways, warned against slot machine and Pay-Off boards, set a Feb 15 1985 deadline to remove machines, and pledged future meetings and cooperation with the public. Local news notes Joe Eagle of Congress will announce a bid for US Senate against Morris Sheppard next year.
