Lavaca County American Cancer Society unit held its January 17 meeting with Bob Peterson of Galveston presiding. Plans announced include a March 14 kickoff in Lavaca and April 3 local Crusade with co chairmen Laddie Bucek and Terrell Mullins. Memorial gifts totaling 110 dollars were reported.

Lavaca County Commissioners Court will meet February 13 1973 at Hallettsville Court House Texas to select a depository for public school and trust funds. Applications from banks associations or individuals must include a cashier’s or certified check at least .5 percent of 1972 revenues and are due by 10 a.m. The winner must escrow securities and sign an bond and escrow/substitution contract.
