Edgar Freytag was elected as delegate to the agricultural adjustment administration county convention at Moulton High School. Louis Zidek named as alternate. The Hallettsville convention met Tuesday with committeemen Edgar Freytag W. J. Jasek and John Weisl and alternates Md. C. Batey and Ed. Mikes.
Stockholders met December 18 and re elected the board of directors F J Fehrenkamp Hd Boehm J T Jaegli Elo C Fehrenkamp and W H Puodt. Officers to be elected at the directors meeting in January.
Oak Grove school will present its annual Christmas program on December 22. The public is invited to attend the event at the school.
Delegates from ten AAA districts in Lavaca county met in Hallettsville on Tuesday and elected com mitteemen for 1940. Names named were John Miller Hallettsville O E Hermes Sweet Home and F K Hinck Moulton. Alternates chosen were Ed Hajek Sweet Home and Edgar Frey tag Moulton.
Mrs Joe Kleckar aged about 70 died at her Novohrad home Wednesday morning. Funeral arrangements were incomplete. Survived by husband and children Mrs Chas Pilat Miss Mary Kleckar Mrs Charles Kristinek Joe Kleckar Mrs Rosa Migl Mrs Wm Greive and Mrs Henry Jasek.

Culak School hosts a Christmas program Saturday December 28 at 7 30 P M with Santa Claus in attendance. Mrs William H Pundt wife of the fire chief has recovered and is up and about. Annie Niemeyer and Mr Mrs Louis Niemeyer of New Braunfels visited the Koesters last week.
John W. Davis of Old Moulton dies at home Tuesday at 10 30 am while chopping wood. Funeral held Wednesday at Old Moulton Cemetery with Rev A Dickson officiating. He was 78 years five months, survived by widow Allie Davis a daughter Minnie Crabb of San Antonio and a son Hogan Davis of Dallas. Marvin Hall thanks fire officials and city leaders for cooperation during the year and urges continued fire prevention and Christmas safety.
The Moulton Branch of the Farmers League elected delegates for the January county convention. Delegates are K. Hrnek, Ad. A. Haas, Erwin Kram, and John Hofner with alternates Louis Zidek, Bohus Hlozek, Frank Fal tisek, and Henry Butsehek.
Scott's School presented an engaging program at the school house Sunday evening. The Moulton High School Band performed several numbers to an appreciative audience.
The Taylor Ducks defeated the Yoakum Bulldogs 23 to 15 at Lockhart on Friday evening to win the regional championship. Fans from Moulton watched the game.
Garner on Saturday formally announced his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1940. John Nance Garner, the vice president, seeks the party’s nomination in the upcoming race.
Joe Tousek sold his cafe and bar last week to George Technik who assumed control of the business on Saturday. Technik takes over operations as the new proprietor of the venue.
Mr and Mrs F T Fehrenkamp and Mr and Mrs Louis Fehrenkamp visited in the George Bargman home in Gon sales Sunday.
The Moulton Eagle promotes a limited time deal with one year subscriptions for $1 from December 16 to December 23, 1939. Back subscriptions accepted on the same basis. Offer expires at 6 PM on December 23.
Congressman Joseph J Mansfield of Columbus endorses John N Garner for president and recalls backing Garner last summer with Sam Rayburn also backing him. Mansfield, longtime Rivers and Harbors Committee chair, praises Garner as the best informed on Washington governance. Rayburn doubts a Roosevelt third term.
The Moulton Bobkatz scorched Ellinger 83 to 19 as they led from early in the second quarter and dominated the game. The Bobkittens beat Ellinger 16 to 4 with Cinada scoring 6 points. On Thursday December 14 the Katz faced the Gonzales Apaches in two varsity games with 23-21 and 19-6 results in favor of the Apaches and Moulton respectively.
