Cotton growers in Moulton rejected the marketing quota by 274 to 125 with six votes voided in a 405 total turnout. Lavaca county totals favored marketing control by 1 092 to 1 145. statewide results show a strong lead for marketing control while tobacco and rice sectors opposed quotas. Cullen F. Thomas, 70, Dallas lawyer, died December 8, survived by widow, one son and four daughters. State Education Department paid an additional dollar on scholastic appropriation bringing total to four dollars with another expected before year end.

Three Die In Auto Crash Near Waelder Texas
Three persons died five miles west of Waelder Texas when their car was crushed by a truck. Victims were Charles E Davenport 56 Mary Grace Davenport 35 of El Paso Texas and Mrs R V Davis of St Paul Minnesota. Justice of the Peace R D Langley identified the bodies. The truck driver, not held, was slightly injured. Witnesses said the car skidded into the path of the truck.
