Padre Island highway plan eyed to open full length by 1955
The Texas Highway Commission will review a project to open Padre Island to all weather traffic by early 1955. A road around shell banks on the 110 mile island would connect with concrete causeways linking to Port Isabel and Corpus Christi, already nearing completion at the south tip and north end respectively. Laurence calls the plan feasible and beneficial to the region, predicting a surge of island tourism.

Moravia Sodality Plans Christmas Party and Flowers
The Catholic Youth Sodality of Moravia met December 4 in the parish hall with 25 members. They opened with prayer and song. A Christmas party is set for December 12 with games gifts and refreshments. The group agreed to fund the Missai in church and to buy poinsettias for the altars at Christmas.
