Door receipts totaled 90.38 and thanks were extended to all helpers. Meanwhile Sergeant Johnnie F. Eilert and Miss Wilhelmine Berger wed in Munich Germany November 20 and plan to be home around Christmas after his three year Army tour.
Geier-Merrem Post 392 American Legion VFW Post 6971 and Moulton Lions Club sponsor a Christmas tree and program in Moulton on Monday December 20. Santa Claus will attend to give gift packages to children. Arrangements are led by Legion members Benno Schneider Theo Motal Leroy Meiserschlaeger and Charlie Filipp VFW members Charles Luksovsky Alvin Faltisek Jerry Kalina L. J. The Moulton Bobkatz host a third annual Texas cage tourney Friday and Saturday with nine teams and trophies for top three. Waelder is favored to win. a star squad will be chosen from the rosters and 10 players receive miniature silver basketballs. Admission 20 and 30 cents per session across eight sessions.

The Moulton Bobkatz took first place at the Sheridan invitation tournament last Saturday after a 40 40 tie with the Sheridan Sandies in regulation and an overtime win in the extra period. Willie Ed Maresh hit a decisive late shot as Maresh and Francis Fisheck led the team with standout play. Francis Fisheck was named to the all tournament team and received a gold miniature basketball.
Mrs. Dolores Vrana and Miss Kirvey Brueggmann have opened a beauty shop in the Ed Kolar residence. They recently completed a cosmetology course in Austin and received their beautician licenses. See advertisement elsewhere in The Moulton Eagle.
A proclamation declares the week of December 13 as school lunch visitors week. Visitors pay 30 cents per plate. non profit operation noted. Parents must send their name and chosen day via their child or notify a teacher.
Mrs. Mary Faltisek aged 80 years 10 months and 29 days died November 30 at 4:45 PM at the home of her daughter in law Ad Darilek near Henkhaus where she had lived 38 years. Funeral held at Oehl Chapel Moulton and St Josephs Church with Rev Joseph Kopp officiating. Interment in Moulton Catholic Cemetery. Survived by one daughter sister two brothers several half siblings five grandsons and four great grandchildren.
W L Cherry died suddenly of a heart attack at his Spur Texas home on Thursday November 25 at age 83 years 8 months 22 days. He was born February 3 1865 in Louisiana and lived in Gonzales Old Moulton before moving to Spur in 1911. Interment followed November 26 at 3 PM in Spur public cemetery after services at First Presbyterian Church led by Rev Vaughn. He leaves three sisters Miss Eulah Cherry Spur and Mrs Ruby Sockwell and Mrs Fannie Sockwell Moulton along with many nieces nephews and friends.
The Lutheran Ladies Aid met Thursday December 2 with 22 members and one visitor Mrs Joe Trojacek and Rev K Windecker present. The group welcomed the new member Mrs Trojacek and appointed committees for Sick Membership Flower Hostesses and adjourned for a social and lunch.
The Moulton Fire Department held its annual officers election at the fire station on Monday night. A J Darilek was elected president with E A Jaeggli as vice president, W H Pundt chief, Lee Jarosek first assistant, Edmund Kram second assistant, Malvin Merrem secretary, Wm Miculka treasurer, Rev John Matocha chaplain. Edward Darilek declined re election. all other officers were re elected.
