Newark earthworks to be preserved as state park
The Newark Ohio earthworks once covered twelve miles in circles squares octagons and long avenues and will be preserved as a state park. Two portions escaped modern development and will be protected while the rest was obscured by the town. Archeologists believe the mounds were the work of ancient races predating the Indians.
