First Bale of New Cotton Marketed Here Saturday

The first bale of the 1950 cotton crop was brought to Moulton by Herbert Pavlicek of Komensky about five miles east. It weighed 633 pounds ginned free by the F W Kubenka gin. Ed Kolar bought the bale at 45 cents per pound for 284.85 and seed at 100 per ton for 53.50, totaling 338.35. The Chamber of Commerce paid a 25 bonus and local businesses offered premiums.
