Complete returns from 248 counties and substantial figures from the rest show the unofficial July primary vote at 833041, beating the prior non presidential record of 821767 set in July 1926 by 11274 votes. Estimated unreported vote under 2000.
Louis Hannemann formerly of Moulton and now studying for the ministry in Columbus Ohio will occupy the pulpit at Zion’s Lutheran Church Sunday morning at 9 30 o clock He is the son of Rev RE Hannemann formerly of this place now in Round Top and has many friends here who will welcome his visit.
Cotton is expanding quickly due to hot dry weather and there is high demand for pickers. The Chamber of Commerce through secretary Vladik Boehm wired San Antonio Houston and Waco teams for available labor.
The American Legion Ninth District convention will be held at Ganado on Sunday. All legionnaires and auxiliary members are welcome to attend.
Mr and Mrs Erwin Oehl have journeyed to Ellinger where Mr Qohl plans to purchase cotton this season.

Misses Marie and Vlasta Petrek spent Sunday with the home folks in Cistern.
Miss Lucile Fehrenkampf is spending the week in Taylor visiting relatives and enjoying local hospitality. She plans to return home after the stay.
Fritz Eilert and C. V. Ketel Holt of Winnfield Louisiana were in Moulton last weekend.
Miss Theodora Jaeggli of San Marcos is in Moulton visiting home folks and friends during her stay. The short trip highlights local hospitality and reunion as she spends time with relatives and longtime acquaintances.
Mrs J T Jaeggli travels to Amarillo to visit her sister Mrs Floyd Norman who is reported ill.
Mr and Mrs Helmuth Elling hausen and Mr and Mrs Gus Pfeil of New Braunfels visited homefolks here the latter part of last week.
Mr and Mrs William Hillmer came back Tuesday after spending several days in Alice at the home of their son in law Reinhold Huebner.

Miss Eunice Kopecky visits Miss Grace Frey in Cuero. Miss Pearl Munke of Schulenburg spends the week with her sister Mrs William Woehler Jr.

A dance will be held at Hermann Park Hall Sunday night August 10 under the auspices of the Moulton Boy Scouts. The event invites local residents to attend and support scouting activities.

Mrs Louis Fehrenkamp entertained many friends Friday evening in honor of her sister Mrs Adolph Nachlinger of Taylor. Refreshments included Angel Food cake sandwiches and grape juice.
Mr and Mrs John Mladenko and Mr and Mrs EK J Mace motored to Yoakum Sunday to meet their granddaughter and niece who established headquarters at the home of Mr and Mrs Ed Shandera Sunday morning.
Mr and Mrs S A Wunderlich and daughter Marie Louise of Houston spent the latter part of their vacation in Moulton after a week at Camp Waltonia Kerrville. They were joined by Mr and Mrs Herbert Fiedler of Moulton and Alfred Fiedler of Mertzon.
Mrs. Elizabeth Reindl died Tuesday morning at her son Frank Jilek Sr.'s home. She was 94 and lived in this part of Texas. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Church with burial in the Catholic Cemetery. Rev. Joseph Kopp officiated. She is survived by twelve grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
The Lavaca county Democratic convention met Saturday afternoon in the Hallettsville courthouse. D. A. Paulus, county chairman, called the assembly to order. H J Heye was elected chairman and J F Bozka secretary. Delegates to the state convention from Moulton included William Hillmer F T Fehrenkamp A J Elster and O F Knape.
The State Automatic Tax Board meeting in Austin for several days has set the state tax rate at 69 percent of the hundred dollar property valuation. Seven cents goes for Confederate pensions, 35 cents for public schools, and 27 cents for general purposes.
H W Haase, operator of a filling station on the old Shiner road, is erecting a modern drive in station on Highway 109 in the northeastern part of town.
A brief birth notice reports two baby girls born near Nickel and Komensky on Monday August 4 to Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Kuhen and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kocich. The Agnes Annie birth is noted for the Komensky family.
Ernest C. Cox of the American Legion Texas branch stated the legion would not engage in politics for the second time in the campaign. He denied a rumor that the legion would back a governor candidate and urged citizens to form opinions and vote by conscience based on the issues and persons.

Rev. K. A. Hannemann formerly of Moulton and now at Round Top resigns as pastor due to ill health. He and Mrs. Hannemann expect to relocate to Fredericksburg.

Mrs Henry Fehrenkamp and children Lucille and Edward Henry with Mrs Adolph Nachlinger and children LeRoy Natalie and Jesse with Mrs Louis Fehrenkamp and children Harvey Louis and Mabel Marie and Misses Margaret and Mercedes Gisbers spent Sunday evening in Hallettsville.
Charles Chovanetz of Shiner is appointed principal of the Bunjes school near Shiner for next term. Mrs. Chovanetz will again lead the Evergreen school for the coming term.
Richard Meissner and Robert Tykal of Racine Wisconsin return from a visit to Texas. They toured Galveston enjoying the Gulf swim and San Antonio visiting the Alamo Brackenridge Park and other sites. They thank Moulton acquaintances for hospitality and plan to visit again, including a stop in Moulton.
The Forty Two Club was entertained at the home of Mrs. Frank Biebun Jr.Last Thursday afternoon. Mrs. O Casey won high score and received hot table mats. Mrs Oscar Anders held second high score and got a crumb tray. A luncheon including tongue sandwiches potato salad crackers iced tea and pineapple cake was served.
The Lavaca County official expresses gratitude to voters for re electing him as county superintendent of schools. He thanks teachers, students, and trustees who supported him and states impartial and faithful public service will remain his motto.
Public Weigher Charles Welff reports that 808 bales of new cotton had been marketed in Moulton up to 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 6.
