Government Restoring Ship Costs Arise Over Constellation Vote
The U S Constitution restoration costs 4.4 million with 200000 yearly upkeep while Baltimore’s Constellation restoration cost 1.2 million and runs on 28750 annually. Rep. Ashbrook and Rep. Bauman slam government spending as bureaucratic waste. Donald Stewart says Constellation relies on donations and has minimal tax support. Commander Tyrone Martin defends Navy funding as part of keeping the vessel commissioned. The Constitution employs 50 sailors and 50 shipwrights aboard.
