Granville Scivalley, her son, alleged to be out of his mind, arrested and jailed in Morgan County after shooting her in the head with a shotgun. Despite a smaller turnout, attendees enjoyed the evening with music by the Moulton String Band, a Gypsy fortune teller, dancing the grand march and Old Virginia Reel, and punch and refreshments. The event added about 25 to 30 dollars to the Red Cross fund.
