Albert Bryant from near Kitch ens visited on Monday and Tuesday for business. Arthur Aldridge recovers at home after a pneumonia attack. W. D. Irwin traveled to Nashville for several days of business. W. O. Watson of Red Hill area visited Saturday. Dr. Jackson of Mt. Hope, recent buyer of the old homestead from his brothers, arranged deeds Saturday.
Several townsmen attended the box supper and presentation of Bible and flag by the Juniors at Fairfield Friday night.
Moulton Council No 15 Jr O U A M presented a flag and Bible to Fairfield School last Friday night. Rev Ira Hawkins presided elder spoke on junior order virtues and good works while Rev S J Schlosser delivered the Bible address. A box supper raised funds for the school. The group will present flags and Bibles to Salem on February 22 and Morris Chapel on February 23 with E R Calhoun making speeches.
Morgan County approved the Tick Eradication measure, halting cattle drives to Decaturs and lowering cattle prices. He notes Muscle Shoals nitrate plant plans may be included for military and agricultural needs and outlines nitrate as essential for war and peaceful supply. He adds East business sentiment toward the European war and its end.
W T Nesmith of near Hatten announces for member of the County Board of Education. A lifelong Democrat, he was urged to run by friends, with the Democratic Primary on May. Five members from the ward are to be elected, and supporters hope the chosen men will serve the county well.

The Third Year Class of Lawrence County High School entertained the Fourth Year Class with a social at Mrs Grace Knight's home last Friday night. After games and refreshments, attendees said the evening was one of the most enjoyable they had spent.
J E Hurst a well known farmer near Hatton is announced as a candidate for the Lawrence County Board of Education in the Democratic Primary. He is praised as a good citizen who supports progress in school work and will strive to advance education in the county.
