In Louisville for two months Rev J W Jones and family return with Bro Jones resuming duties as pastor of the Baptist church after completing a special theological course.
Sheriff WwW B Lee traveled to the lower valley on Friday on official business, meeting local officials and inspecting conditions in the area.
Born to Mr and Mrs Elmer Moses a son on Nov 26. Elizabeth Gunn, music and expression teacher, spent the weekend in Telladega. Mr and Mrs Ike Terry of Hartselle visited here last Wednesday, accompanied home by Misses Myrle Almon and Maybelle Jetton. Sandlin Drug Co offers fountain pens as practical gifts.

Nathaniel Almon comes home from Florence to spend 15 day furlough with family. He is joined by friend Mr Pettition Roberts after return from officers training camp at Ft Oglethorpe where he was commissioned as Second Lieutenant last week.

The Young People's Missionary Society of the Methodist Church is urged to attend a important business meeting at 7 o'clock Saturday night at the home of Mrs Jim Stewart.
A box supper is planned at Brown's School House on Saturday night to benefit the school. Miss Cora Gunn is named in connection with the event.

The regular teachers examination will be held at Moulton on December 17 18 and 19. Applicants must write in their home county or present a written permit from the State Superintendent. Identification must be arranged if unclear.

The Lawrence County Teachers Association gathered at the High School last Saturday with over 80 percent attendance. Prof. J. T. McKee and Mrs. Susan Jones Price of Florence State Normal College delivered distinguished talks, making the program engaging and instructive for educators.
Moulton was made to feel that we are really at war during the past week. A number of our boys now in training to "git the kiser" were home on furloughs and spoke of Uncle Sam feeding and caring for his troops. They looked 15 to 35 pounds heavier than two months ago. Visitors included Lieut. Robert L. Almon, Wilburn Murphree, Porter Vaughan, Ollie Bobo, George McVay, Zeno Bynum, John Wallace, and Leonard McMillan.
Last Thursday a Union Thanksgiving service was held at Moulton Baptist Church with Rev. R W Sides of the Methodist church delivering the sermon. An appropriate program accompanied the service.
The marriage of Miss Myrtle Stephenson to Mr. T Clarence Cuthbertson was quietly solemnized at the bride’s home on Tuesday December 4 with Rev J W Jones officiating. The bride wore brown broadcloth with matching accessories. They left for a bridal trip to Birmingham and Atlanta and will reside with Mr and Mrs Dee Almon upon returning.
Miss Emma Knight daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph Knight married Prof Alvis Dowell of Lawrence County High School at 1 30 pm in the bride’s Mabry Street home with Rev Joseph R Dunglinson officiating. Attendant Lilla Dowell wore blue taffeta as the couple planned a Birmingham wedding trip and residence in Moulton.
Marshal L A McKelvy poured five gallons of liquor into the sewer on the public Square after it was condemned in mayor’s court. The liquor had been seized weeks earlier when two men were arrested for violating the prohibition law. McKelvy is praised for his efforts to curb liquor traffic in Moulton.
