Masonic Conference at Mt Hope Lodge July 1907

The Lawrence County Masonic Conference met at Hall of Mt Hope Lodge No 168 on July 24 1907 with officers and multiple lodges represented. The session featured W M Charles J Walker and a lecture on the Masons badge, temperance resolutions urging abstinence from intoxicants and admonishing offenders, and multiple degree workings in W M and F D degrees before adjourning with thanks to Mt Hope Lodge for hospitality.

Camp Meeting Near Old Doc Jones Place

An old fashioned Camp Meeting will begin Saturday night before the Third Sunday in August near the Old Doc Jones place. Christians of all denominations are invited to camp for ten days at the grove and draw near to God. F T Terry writes of a Loosier picnic on July 27 1907 with 1000 plus attendees. He and F M Wilson shared war hero status while the 150 foot long table overflowed with food prepared by local women. He praises decorum and hopes for another similar event next July.

Mass Meeting Called on High School Site in Lawrence
