Grundy County faces a push to redraw precinct lines to meet one man one vote by July 1 1971. Chairman Sidney C Carr notes districts must have equal population and the board must decide on at large versus district elections and total members from five to 29 after census figures arrive.
Col. Robert B. Rheault retires from the Army effective today after leading the Green Berets in Vietnam and later becoming involved in a South Vietnamese murder case. He had been on leave in the United States while considering new assignments, with retirement processing completed after Pentagon approval.
Rain at 5 p.m. prompted the Morris Lions Club to move the Halloween parade indoors to the theatre. Chairman Jack Kutches said paraders would be judged on entry and cartoons shown with cash prizes awarded. Treats would be distributed as participants leave.

Sam Bozin age 32 of Chicago pleaded guilty to the July 26 burglary of the Goodyear Service Store at 514 Liberty Street. The case, linked to John A. Svizzero, was continued to November 24 for sentencing after a pre sentence investigation.
Trustees to meet as the Morris Public Library Board on Monday at 8 pm in the library. Committee reports are due at the regular meeting.
Raymond Bannon, 21, of Mazon, pleaded guilty to reckless homicide for a July 23 crash that killed Darryl Osmun near Mazon. He received a four month term at the Illinois State Farm in Vandalia after witnesses testified about speed and possible intoxication.

The gunman demanded navigation while passengers watched a rifle and a single shot fired aboard. 39 passengers and three crew members deplaned at Denver during a brief stop, and two supervisory captains accompanied the crew to handle the crisis.
Mrs. Bessie L. Gooch as administrator of Darrell I. Gooch's estate sues Richard L. Moore for 200000 over a traffic collision on U.S. 6 near Channahon that killed Gooch on October 2. The complaint accuses Moore of speeding and improper driving in the events leading to the crash.
