Three Morris volunteer fire calls Wednesday afternoon and evening produced minor damages at each. At 4:50 p.m. a corn picker on George Brown farm four miles west on U.S. 6 caught fire. At 6:45 p.m. a trash fire behind the Citgo on Illinois 47 spread to tires. At 7:00 p.m. a trash blaze at Jesse Clark residence on Evergreen Cemetery Road was extinguished.

Man Critical After Crash West of D C
Two men were injured in a two vehicle crash on Illinois 113 two miles west of Coal City at 4 55 p m Wednesday. William Griffith 37 of Verona in critical condition Roy Long 42 of 517 Armstrong St in fair condition. Griffith failed to yield at a stop intersection and collided with Longs vehicle. Griffith to Morris Hospital Long to Finland ambulance. Both cars were demolished and towed to local service stations.
