Suspect in Minooka murder held without bond in Grundy jail
Charles Robert Turner charged with three counts of murder in the death of Emma Miles 83 of Minooka. He was bound over to the grand jury and remains indigent and represented by Morris attorney August Black. Miles died from head injuries found at her Massasoit Street home. Survivors include eight grandchildren and many more relatives.

Explosion severely burns man at Braceville area home
Larry Canterbury 27 of Braidwood is in critical condition at St. Joseph Hospital Joliet after an explosion at a Braceville south farm home where he worked. Firefighters from Braceville responded at 9:30 p.m. to a fire that destroyed the house while a barn and crib were saved. The incident reportedly began when glue fumes ignited near a pilot light while Canterbury opened a can of glue used for wall tile. The farm is 1.5 miles south of Braceville and owned by John Marmna, who resides nearby.

Two Morris teens arrested after high speed chase

A Seneca woman identified as Mrs. James Emery was rushed to Morris Hospital in critical condition after a one car crash on US 6 two miles east of Seneca. Emergency crews and Pfeffer ambulance attended the scene. her husband was treated and released and their 3 year old daughter Melissa was uninjured.
