Firefighters Answer Four Calls Friday in Morris Area
Morris volunteer firemen handled four fires Friday within two and a half hours. Minooka Fire Department joined at Aux Sable Township near U. S. 6 and the Rock Island tracks. A 70 acre corn field threatened by a wind driven grass blaze prompted two departments to respond. Flames burned a couple acres. no harvest had begun. The final alert came at 5 p.m. for a grass fire near Morris Community High School, with trucks remaining about 45 minutes.

House passes bill to limit divorced parents tax exemptions
Washington AP reports the House approved a bill to set guidelines for tax exemptions for children in divorces. The measure, sent to the Senate by voice vote, targets cases where the noncustodial parent seeks the exemption.
