Youth hurt after rock strike at Shabbona School

Escapees Nabbed After Six Killings Across Kentucky
Two prison escapees Wilmer Scott and William Sloan were captured early today in Fort Thomas after a spree that left six dead including a minister and his two children. They fled Lexington custody Monday, then abducted a woman, stole a car and weapons, and killed three at Fishers Motel in Falmouth before police arrested them.

Unidentified Woman Found Bludgeoned Near Channahon
Will County sheriffs report no ID yet on a body found Sunday in a field beside Willard Road Cemetery north of Channahon. The victim, a white woman 20 to 30, about 5 feet 10 inches, 150 to 160 pounds, was struck with a blunt instrument. A second body of a 15 year old Oswego girl was found nearby the same day.

By a 6 to 1 vote Monday night the LaSalle County Board of School Trustees approved a petition for annexation of 180 acres in Vienna Township to the Mazon Verona Kinsman Community Unit No 2. The land owned by Carper Farms and occupied by the James F Fleischman family lies in Seneca Township High School District No 160 and the former Kinsman Grade School district. The MVK unit formed with boundary lines from Mazon Township High School, excluding this tract.
