AVC base raised to eight thousand for Grundy Center staff
Tuesday night the AVC Administrative Advisory Council approved raising base salaries to $8,000 for instructional personnel with $295 yearly and step-increases adding up to $495 minimum raises for eight full time and three part time staff. Top salaries for first two categories rise to $10,950 and $11,245 with eleventh year steps.

Two families mourn as crashes claim four lives in Grundy area
Two injured in Grundy County crashes remained in critical condition Monday. Curtis Parham eight from St Louis and Troy Pierce nineteen from Hallsboro were in ICUs at St Francis Peoria and St Joseph Joliet. The Parham boy and John Zappa sixteen of Dwight died in crashes on US 66 and I 80 respectively. Robert Edwards twenty nine of Johnson Arkansas was in fair condition after a separate I 55 crash near Carbon Hill Road.
