Vandals damage heavy equipment at Erienna Township yard
Weber Excavating reported extensive damage to heavy equipment at the Hendley Matteson farm on N Nettle School Rd in Erienna Township Monday night. Lt Evert Poyner of the Grundy County Sheriff's Department cited damage to a Case backhoe John Deere scraper and an International bulldozer including broken spark plugs cut electrical parts and damaged gauges and lines. Davidson found the scene Tuesday morning and Weber could not estimate the total loss.

A three month Grundy County probe by MANS and Coal City police led to early morning arrests of five people in Gardner on felony marijuana charges. Detectives seized about three pounds of cannabis, pills and paraphernalia. The five held at Grundy County Jail awaiting court today for bond.
