Youth injured in single car crash near Morris
A Morris youth, Robert Storms aged 16 from Ottawa Bend, is in stable condition in the intensive care unit at St Joseph Hospital Joliet after a one car crash Friday night. The vehicle driven by James Belt 17 Route 5 struck a utility pole on Stockdale and Weitz Roads. Belt cited for defective brakes and Bond posted for court on June 24.

Suit against Runyons and counter suit dismissed
James Baker filed a $1,400 suit in Grundy County Circuit Court in July 1974 against Marvin Runyon Karen Runyon and Dwight with a counter suit by the Runyons for about $1,475 in September 1974 both dismissed Friday. The original claim arose from a October 10 1971 collision on Illinois 47 near Illinois 113 for which Baker sought $1,478.65 in damages.

Possible drowning report from Illinois River near Bell's Landing
Morris Fire Department responded to a possible drowning on the Illinois River after a fiberglass 14 foot aqua canoe was found near Bell's Landing. The canoe was broken in two with no identification. Sheriff’s deputies investigate owner and missing person while a witness recalls a youth with long hair in a red bandana prior to a barge near miss.

County tax suit filed in Grundy County Court
H. Dale Barr superintendent of Morris Grade School District 54 filed a yearly Grundy County Circuit Court suit Friday seeking an order for the county clerk to estimate unsettled tax rates. Gas Pump Damaged in Illinois Station Accident
About 600 dollars in damage occurred to a gas pump at Schroeder's Standard in Gardner Illinois at 53 and Main after a vehicle collision at 4 20 p m. Charles Fincher 55 of Book Walter Woods Gardner reportedly struck the pump with his truck while pulling in to refuel claiming glare from the sun prevented him from seeing the pump. His 1974 Chevrolet pickup escaped damage.
