Man Charged in 16 Year Olds Forest Preserve Killing
Raymond S. Larson, 21, was charged with the murder of 16 year old Frank Casolari whose naked body was found in Schiller Woods near the Des Plaines River. Police said a second man was being questioned in the fatal shooting and Larson’s arrest details were not released. Casolari left home Wednesday to go fishing by bicycle. He was shot multiple times in the head chest and stomach with weapons possibly including a shotgun or buckshot.

State grants aid Rock Island rail service route renewal

District sets summer class rate for special ed students
Morris District 54 superintendent H Dale Barr announced at the Grundy County Special Education Cooperative meeting that LD and SM students will attend regular summer school classes starting June 12. If enough LD and SM pupils enroll, another teacher may be hired at the same $6 hourly rate. Fees align with regular students at $3 for district residents and $25 for non residents. The cooperative may expand facilities to 30 students, and a mobile unit at the high school can serve 15 with a teacher, while another teacher assists in regular classes.
