Boy Attacked by Stray St. Bernard In Braidwood
Kevin McElroy, of G. S. Walker Street, was treated and released from St. Joseph Hospital Joliet after a St. Bernard owned by Joe Motta broke from a pen and attacked him. He sustained several cuts and possible head injuries. The dog, not rabies vaccinated, was taken to Morris Veterinary Hospital for 10 days containment.

Grundy County deputies logged six mailbox thefts on Wednesday with incidents on Lakeside Drive Lakeside Goose Lake and Deerfield Road. Terry Woodard said his mailbox and three others along Lakeside Dr plus one on Deerfield Rd were taken. Ira Hisaw reported his mailbox and a neighbor’s stolen, with the neighbor identified as Louise Hum. The thefts occurred between midnight and 8 a.m.
