AMAX Aluminum Sheet Mill Dedication Set for June 6
Official dedication of the AMAX Aluminum sheet mill east of Morris is scheduled for June 6 with a facility tour, a reception and luncheon at Joliet's Holiday Inn. Construction started two years ago, operations began about a year ago, and the plant aims for 90 million pounds yearly by end of 1969. The program starts with a 9 50 a.m. tour and ends around 2 30 p.m. Bus transport will run from downtown Chicago and the Holiday Inn.

Man Dies After Tree He Cut Bounces Back
Clarence Michaels aged 52 from rural Lake Village Indiana was killed near Momence Illinois when a felled tree rebounded and struck him in the chest and head. He was helping clear land on his brother in law Leslie Hedger’s farm three miles east of Momence.

Wilmington Youth Held In Shooting
A 16 year old Wilmington boy, George William Kunitz, was charged with attempted murder after shooting his step father Ernest Blair, 25, at 10 53 p m in the Riverside trailer court. Blair was taken to Silver Cross hospital with severe facial wounds. The family quarrel was given as the motive. Kunitz was sent to Will County jail with no bond due to his juvenile status. A family court hearing was anticipated.

Morris man treated after crash at railroad crossing
Ronald P. Mann 25 of Route 1 escaped serious injury in a one car accident on Illinois 47 at the Rock Island crossing. He fainted at the wheel of a 1966 Chevelle and was treated for head lacerations at Morris Hospital. The car struck an iron railing and was towed away. Mann was removed by ambulance.

Crash Injures Morris Man and Kills Mother
