Kendall murder trial selects 12 jurors
A 12 man jury was chosen in Kendall County for the murder trial of David Morris 24 of Aurora charged with the January 22 death of Donald Kirklin 36 of Aurora. Judge Rex S Meisinger presided with defense attorney Fred Morelli. Co defendant Homer Couch 21 of Aurora is held in the Illinois Security Hospital after a ruling of mental incompetence.

Two of three women face arrest in shoplifting case
Debra Ross and Janice Walker both 18 from Chicago were arrested on three Kendall County theft complaints after shoplifting four pant suits from Hideaway Dress Shop and other dresses from Countryside Shopping Center in Yorkville and Plano. Susan Simms 17 of Chicago is jailed for failing to post bond. The trio had posted bonds at Grundy County Courthouse.

Power Outage Hits East Morris Early Morning
Morris police logged a one and a half hour blackout from 3 45 a m to 5 15 a m on the east side of Morris. A resident reported lights failing in Evergreen Subdivision while North States Gas Station and nearby street lights went dark. Police checked U S 6 but found no crash. Commonwealth Edison restored power after fuses blew east of town.

Community Unit 2 school board election polling plan announced
Voters will cast ballots noon to 7 pm Saturday to form a seven member board for the new Community Unit School District No 2. Precincts include Mazon Township High School Verona Grade School and Kinsman Grade School with lot determined terms and township limits. Gardner officials plan smoke tests to locate leaks in the sanitary system starting Monday.

The Shabbona School music department will hold the Spring Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday in the school gym. The program features the junior high band the sixth grade band the seventh grade chorus and the eighth grade chorus with vocal solos by Jennifer Peterson and Becky Sole. Appeals on Morris industrial and Saratoga farm valuations dismissed
