About 40 attendees reviewed recommendations on Kentucky Fried Chicken on Borens property Illinois 47 and a Kroger store rezone from M I to B III. Final plans for Eagle Discount Center near I 80 overpass were approved along with revised plans for a 196 unit rental complex west of Hi Park. The Lakewood Estates 352 acre project west of Morris on U S 6 and Parklake Village 488 unit condos were discussed with traffic and school site questions. A street and annexation path with Joliet developers was outlined, and final approval contingent on fire department review and cul de sacs.

Morris switches to computerized water bills at 30 cents each
Morris residents will receive computerized water bills via First National Bank of Morris after the April 11 council decision. About 2,500 accounts will be billed at 30 cents per user per cycle with data center billing from Illinois Valley Data Center at LaSalle. Delinquent lists will be printed after 15 days. city clerk’s office will handle past due notices.

Cool Illinois Weather Lingers With Spring Still Slow

Downtown Morris reported 55 degrees at 11 a.m. Tonight will be fair and cool with lows in the lower 40s. Thursday will be partly sunny and cooler with a high near 58.
