Morris school board approves summer remedial courses
Morris Grade School District 54 will offer a five week remedial reading and math session from June 11 to July 13 for grades 1 through 7. Superintendent H Dale Barr estimates costs around 4 000 for instruction 2 500 for bus transportation and 1 000 for materials with a 10 per student fee to assure attendance. About 100 students expected with 10 12 pupils per teacher sessions run 9 30 to 11 a m five days weekly. The board also accepted the resignation of Edward Harris and granted tenure to six teachers.

Two Coal City burglary suspects arrested in probe
Two people were arrested Tuesday after an extensive police and Grundy County Sheriff's Department investigation into a burglary. Stolen weapons were recovered during the operation.

Tuesday record 53/23 at Dresden Lock. 7 am 23 with trace precipitation. At Coal City a burglary at Gerald Bitner home led to weapon recoveries and two youths held on burglary charges. Kenneth Davis 16 and Houston Weathersby 23. Police raid at Weathersby residence yielded rifles shotguns and a pistol plus drugs. Davis arrested hiding in a bathroom after a tip. Additional search found nothing at another apartment. warrants issued by Judge Robert Wren and State Attorney Charles Zalar.

Felony charge filed after fight at accident scene
A four counting information will be filed today against William W. Dent for aggravated battery obstructing a police officer disorderly conduct and disobeying a policeman. An arrest warrant will be issued for Dent after he allegedly hit Policeman Roger Miller argued with ambulance crews and refused to leave the scene of an injury accident in Morris. The Morris Police withhold a formal report until the investigation concludes.
