Morris Community High approves two year teachers contract
Morris Community High School board approved a two year contract and salary schedule for 1971-72 and 1972-73 terms. Beginning bachelor level salary rises to 8 000 for 1971-72 and 8 150 for 1972-73 with retroactive raise to Nov 15 1971. A teacher evaluation committee and professional grievance procedure are created. Superintendent Rose also gets a 500 raise to 22 300 for 1972-73 plus a 100 optional fringe benefit component.

Married Minooka student sues over school restrictions
A 17 year old Minooka High School junior, Jennifer Castello, filed a U S District Court suit in Chicago alleging the district 201 school board punished her for getting married. The ACLU claims denial of chorus sport dances and activities violates equal protection and due process. A hearing on a preliminary injunction is set before Judge Bernard Decker.

Sheriff Olson Listed in Good Condition at Joliet
Sheriff Marvin E. Olson in the intensive care unit at St. Joseph Hospital Joliet listed as in good condition for a heart problem. A family spokesman said the exact nature of the heart issue had not been determined even as he responded to treatment. Olson, 45, was rushed from Morris Hospital around 9:30 a.m. last Wednesday.

Democratic U S Senator candidate Roman Pucinski will speak at a $10 a plate fundraiser March 23 at the Morris V F W hall 309 McKinley St. Tickets are sold by precinct committeemen and county candidates. Irving and wife indicted in Hughes book case
Federal grand jury charged Irving and his wife with conspiracy and mail fraud.
