University students present plans for children’s library project
John McNamara and Pat Askew, graduate interior design students at the University of Illinois, unveiled architectural drawings for a children’s library. John C. Cameron Jr., 21, of Route 5, remained in fair condition at Morris Hospital after his 1964 Ford van hit a tree on 834 East Washington Street at 10:10 p.m. Monday. Cameron, headed west, lost control on the curve, skidded 40 feet, and the van was towed from the scene. He was transported by Finland Ambulance. police say he will face charges for reckless driving and illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor.

Discovery motion granted in Kendall County murder case
David Morris and Homer Couch are charged with the January 22 murder of Donald Kirklin in Aurora. Morris, 24, and Couch, 21, pleaded innocent. A discovery order requires the state to deliver records to attorney Fred Morelli. Further motions are due April 3 and a hearing is set for April 11. Kirklin’s body was found near Miller Rd in Little Rock Township. Morris is jailed without bond in Kendall County, Couch held without bond in Kane County. A March 22 sanity hearing is planned for Couch. no trial date yet.

Driver in fair condition after I 80 crash near Joliet
Charles F. Street Jr. of Flossmoor was listed in fair condition in the ICU at St. Joseph Hospital Joliet after a car truck crash on Interstate 80 a quarter mile east of Brown Road. Police say Street headed west and struck a semi trailer then crossed lanes, bounced off a guard rail, and ended in a median ditch before ambulance transfer.
