Health Board to Seek State OK for Home Hospital Transfer Co ordinator
The Grundy County Board of Health voted Thursday to apply for state approval of a plan to hire a coordinator for transfers between hospitals nursing homes and private homes. The role would arrange admissions arrange post discharge aid and evaluate homes before release to ensure post return support. A $5000 state fund set to expire July 1 would finance the program with any unused money usable for administration. If approved but unfunded after July the plan would be dropped. The board also raised home visit reimbursements for physical therapists to nine dollars per visit plus fifteen cents per mile from Morris.

Trucker Escapes Flaming Cab After I 80 Crash
Two separate overnight I 80 pileups left three drivers injured or hospitalized. William Richards, 57, of Omaha escaped a cab fire after rear ending a sem with 5:05 a.m. crash near Minooka Road. Francis M. Fetters, 58, of Fort Dodge Iowa, uninjured, drove away from the wreck. Richards faced a speeding ticket. Vesci, 54, Chicago Heights, was hospitalized with no reported injuries. Verle Lammey, 33, Commerce City Colorado, fell asleep, not admitted. Lammey and Vesci trucks towed to Romines Standard.

Ogle County grand jury indicted Dorothy Reed, 49, of Polo, for using arsenic to poison her husband who died December 25 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Madison Wisconsin. Reed was arrested February 5 after a Dane County Wisconsin coroner investigation.

Hearings on closing roads for I 55 reconstruction near Gardner
