Grundy County pro tem clerk John McEvilly 52 of Minooka resigns effective Thursday for personal reasons. He served as mayor of Minooka 1961 to 1969 and as a right of way agent for Commonwealth Edison. The Grundy County Board may appoint Deputy Lana Phillips as interim clerk until a replacement is chosen.

Grundy County Grants State Aid for Mental Health Clinic
The Grundy County Board of Health announced a state grant for the Community Mental Health Clinic at 1340 Edwards St. The grant from Illinois Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities runs July 1 1976 through June 30 1977 for over 24000. Jeff Todd becomes clinic director with a staff including a second counselor a part time alcoholism counselor a consulting psychiatrist and public health nurses. Funding also comes from county health funds client fees third party insurance and contributions. A citizen advisory committee will assist in program development and monitoring. Clinic hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended times as needed.
