Final British convoy evacuates 200 from Beirut to Syria

County ready for New Jersey flu immunization program
Grundy County Health Department plans a county wide flu shot program starting in early September. Walt Kocal, 21, from Calumet City, is the new summer interpreter for the Illinois Department of Conservation at Goose Lake Prairie State Park. He graduated in May from Western Illinois University with a zoology degree and botany minor and began June 7, working 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. He leads guided tours at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays Sundays and holidays, with tours lasting about an hour and reservations available for other times. He coordinates eight youth Conservation Corps members for 10 weeks, all Grundy County youths. He notes pamphlets are available for visitors and will be updated seasonally.
