County to Seek HUD Certification for Area Planning Organization

Morris City Council approved a police pay raise by a 5 to 3 vote. Sergeants will earn 762.87 monthly retroactive to May 1, patrolmen 716.63, and the police chief 800 monthly. Coal City school board heard that state aid will drop 50 percent from the prior year due to higher assessed valuation. The 1971 72 claim totals 101 090 12 versus 219 000 last year. Additional funds will come for parochial school students. other claims include transportation 5 761 70 and special education 9 060 69. Three new teachers were hired Peggy Dixon Susanne Broderick and Michael J Pamatot with salaries 7 800 each plus coaching 700 for Pamatot.
