Tornado Warnings Fail To Materialize In Grundy County
Late Monday afternoon the area experienced heavy rain and reported tornado conditions with a tornado sighting near Mazon after a touchdown south west of Ottawa. Civil Defense sirens were activated in Morris and Illinois Bell reported network overloads with brief telephone delays. Cooler temperatures and a slight chance of rain were forecast for tonight.

Vehicle Check Begins Here Tomorrow
The Vehicle Safety Check program for Morris motorists opens testing lanes at 9 a.m. Wednesday. It is free and voluntary, showing how vehicle inspection would be done with special equipment. Clifton Robinson 21 of 562 N Farnsworth Aurora and Richard L Favish 37 of 213 N Hamland Skokie were injured along with Diana Robinson 22 Deana Robinson 14 months and James Taylor 14.
