Doyle D. Lewis 32 of Route 1 was in fair condition at Morris Hospital after a Friday two car collision on Illinois 47 at Southmor Road. Lester E. Whelcher 20 of Danville rear ended Lewis, sending Lewis into a culvert. Whelcher was ticketed for failing to yield on a left turn and faces court July 24. Lewis drove a 1958 Chevrolet truck. Whelcher’s 1970 Chevrolet sustained front end damage.
