Fatal crash before jury in Bowler case near I-80
A Grundy County grand jury convened to review evidence from a fatal traffic crash. Bowler, 29, Joliet and Chico resident, is charged with driving while intoxicated and wrong lane usage after his car crossed the median on I-80 near the Seneca exit, killing Vonnie Garringer, 19, of Williamsburg, Iowa. Troy Pierce, 19, of Hallsboro, NC, is in critical condition at St Joseph Hospital Joliet. Bowler is free on a $500 cash bond.
