Five Wisconsin policemen resign in Lac du Flambeau
John Burke, 38, of Chicago was named police chief after five of six officers submitted resignations. Police Chief Charles Gebhard cited fatigue from harassment and alleged warrantless entries on the Lac du Flambeau Indian Reservation. Burke, a former military police veteran, was chosen at a joint police commission and town board meeting.
