Woman killed in crash on Grundy County roads
Mrs. James Lamping a 19 year old of Channahon died when the car she rode in left Tabler Rd struck a utility pole rolled over and stopped. Driver unknown at first but Terry Todd 21 of Minooka was hospitalized in Joliet in serious condition. The accident occurred about 10 15 p.m. Wednesday near US 6. Todd later reported the crash to Donald Steffes of Tabler Rd. Todd’s whereabouts prior to the crash remain unknown. Coroner James Reeves ruled Lamping died at the scene with head injuries and the funeral home in Joliet prepared the body. Todd was being treated at St. Joseph Hospital. The Minooka woman’s family and her husband James were not yet interviewed by authorities. The 1972 Datsun involved was demolished and towed to a Morris service station. Mrs. Lamping was born August 4 1956 in Joliet and survived by her husband a 6 month old son and five sisters among others. Funeral services were planned for Joliet and Minooka.

A Grundy County Circuit Court jury of eight women and four men awarded Joan Phelan, 14, of Kinsman, 350000 for injuries from a December 26, 1971 car crash. Morris MCHS Board approves 8 percent raise for administrators
Morris Community High School Board of Education approved an 8 percent pay increase for administrative and non teaching staff, with some salaries rising more than 8 percent. Youth drowns in Plano park pool accident
Plano 15 year old Andrew John Gorman son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Gorman Jr drowned Wednesday afternoon in the Foll Park pool in Plano. He caught his foot on a wood raft and could not be revived at the scene. Kendall County Coroner Everett McKeown announced an inquest. The body was taken to Richard Larson Funeral Home. Fall Park remains open but the raft is off limits.
