Coroner W. Clark Davis announced that a newborn boy found dead at a Gardner area dump Saturday night has led to a grave warning for the baby's mother to seek immediate medical care. An autopsy suggested postnatal infection risks if she delays treatment.
Louis and Shirley Girard arrive in Washington with Ottawa supporters to urge President Eisenhower to allow William S. Girard, an Army specialist, to be tried in an American court for the death of Louis and Shirley Girard’s Japanese victim. A 180 foot petition scroll bearing 20 000 signatures accompanies them as Sen. Goldwater proposes a bipartisan four member Japan observing committee.
President Eisenhower, confined to bed with an upset stomach, is reported by three physicians to show no signs of connection to his 1955 heart attack or last year's illness. Hagerty said the issue is precautionary and not causing hospitalization. Nixon expects him back in his office tomorrow.

Two Morris chapter members Raymond LeRette and Earl Otto, guided by A. V. Meadors, received State Farmer degrees at the state FFA convention in Exposition hall Springfield. LeRette and Otto, 1957 Morris Community High School graduates, were chosen for degrees based on beef sheep corn and beef hogs corn projects respectively. Meadors received the Honorary State Farmer degree, one of 12 in the state, for adult work advancing youth agriculture.

John G. Durkee 24 and his mother Mrs. George Durkee 67 are dead after a late night crash on Highway 6 near Morris. Robert Enger 27 and his mother Mrs. Clyde Inger are in Morris hospital with chest back injuries and shock. Double funeral services for Mrs Durkee and John Durkee will be held at Immaculate Conception church.
The Grundy County grand jury convened with State's Atty. August B. Black seeking indictments against three Manhattan youths for rape and attempted rape of two Joliet sisters. Edward J. Doyle, 16, Robert Riley, 20, and Martin Funk, 21, held on 2000 dollar bond for alleged crimes near Gardner on April 4.
Morris Fire Department responded around 11:20 p.m. Sunday to Mills Drive Inn on U.S. Route 6 for smoke caused by faulty electric wiring. Damage limited to a badly smoked wall.
