Police officer cited after motorcycle accident in Morris
Former Morris Police Chief George L. Hendrickson 42 from 422 West Jefferson Street suffered neck and back injuries when his 1973 Honda was struck by Patrolman James Creed at Depot Street and Liberty Street at 10 20 p m Friday Creed pursued two motorcyclists as they rode south on Liberty Street and the lead rider stopped at Depot Street Creed says the red light fell from the squad car startling him and the second bike collided from behind Hendrickson was treated by Dr L J Wilhelmi for neck shoulder muscle strains bruises and possible internal injuries. The squad car sustained minor damage while the motorcycle suffered extensive damage and Creed faces charges for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident with a June 20 court date set.

Eltrevoog dies of injuries in Joliet crash
Gary Eltrevoog 19 of Rte. 1 died at 7 a.m. at St. Joseph Hospital Joliet after a May 21 one car crash on I 80 near Illinois 47. Steven Cook 19 of Morris was treated at Morris Hospital and released. Eltrevoog worked at Caterpillar Joliet since 1972 and is survived by his parents two brothers a sister and two Ottawa grandparents. Funeral services Wednesday at 9 30 a.m. in Morris with burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Tragedy Strikes Harrisburg Family in Ohio River Mishap
Three members of a Harrisburg Illinois family reportedly drowned when their boat capsized in rough water on the Ohio River near Old Shawneetown Gallatin County. William Martin his wife Carol and son Frank were aboard. Mrs Martin was found near Cave In Rock about 30 miles south in Hardin County.
